Inspired by elegance, beauty, and history, the winemakers at Castel Mimi have combined Riesling and Pinot Gris – two of the world's most celebrated varietals – to create Cucoanele. Cucoanele are what the Basarabians used to call noblemen's wives, who dressed pompously and were often foreign. The "father" of Mimi Castle and his sisters were of Greek origin, while his wife was Armenian, but Basarabia became their second home, just like it did for the grape varieties that waltz together inside the coupage. The wheat-colored wine with light green reflections debuts with sweet floral flavors. The palate is offered juicy apple and pear tastes with a slightly citrus tinge. It possesses a round and full body, with a complex and long-lasting aftertaste.
Serve with salads, soft cheese platters, and sea fish.
