VinOPERA

VinOpera is an International Festival of Classical Music with the aim of promoting cultural values. This impressive event brings together more than 50 artists and musicians of international stature, exceeding all expectations.

On the first Friday of September, world-class masters perform at one of the most beautiful tourist attractions in our country, an architectural monument – Mimi Castle.

Programme of the VinOPERA International Classical Music Festival:

  • 30 August, Varnița Village (free access to the event)
  • 16:00 – Exhibition of folk craftsmen
  • 18:00 – Recital “Gândul Mâței” (The thought of the hand)
  • 19:00 – Ethno-folkloric Ensemble “Plăieșii”
  • 31 August, Bulboaca Village (free access to the event)
  • 19:30 – Constantin Moscovici – Master of Art, Artist of the People.
  • 20:30 – Dj Party – Folklore sounds

1 September, at Mimi Castle:

20:00 – Symphonic Concert conducted by Daniel Jinga, Chorus Master of the Bucharest National Opera Choir, and the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Chisinau.

Famous artists of the Bucharest National Opera and the Opera and Ballet Theatre “Maria Biesu” from Chisinau meet on the same stage – at Mimi Castle.

Enjoy classical music performed by Iordache Basalic, baritone, soloist of the Bucharest National Opera, who has toured Europe and Asia throughout his career and has sung on the same stage with great names of the World Opera.

Mădălina Barbu, a young soloist from Bucharest with unique vocal qualities, is a rare soprano of colouratura.

Lilia Istratii, former soloist of the Opera and Ballet Theatre “Maria Biesu” in Chisinau, current soloist of the Romanian Opera Craiova.

And last but not least, the unmistakable Dumitru Mîțu, Emeritus Artist of the Republic of Moldova, soloist of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre “Maria Bieșu” in Chisinau and member of the “BrioSonoris” band. In 2022, Dumitru Mîțu ranked third out of 1400 participants from 63 countries of the world at the International Singing Competition “Neue Stimmen” in Germany. In 2023, he was declared the “phenomenon” of the international competition “SWR Junge Opernstars 2023”.

Visitors are welcome to join their families and friends by car or by train Chisinau – Mimi Castle, round trip.

The Wine Train will depart at 18:30 from the Chisinau Railway Station and the train will return at 22:30.

The price of tickets in zone A, B, C, D includes a glass of wine “welcome drink”.
At the event we will also have a buffet for a fee.
Dress-code: evening wear.

The project “VinOPERA International Classical Music Festival” is funded by the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chisinau, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and is organized by the “Constantin Mimi” Foundation in collaboration with Castel Mimi.

The Wine Travel Awards, a specialist website that annually rewards the best entrepreneurs in the winemaking and event management industry, has named VinOpera as “Event of the Year 2021” in the “Wine and Food Event” category by public vote. Proudly, we also won the title of “Best European Wine Event of the Year 2022” in the prestigious competition organised by ITER VITIS Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
