At the beginning of September, the “Constantin Mimi” Foundation brings back to the stage of Castel Mimi the most spectacular International Classical Music Festival – VinOpera.

We invite you to enjoy an exceptional evening of famous classical works, impressive voices, and fine wines, brought to you by Castel Mimi.

Now in its 8th edition, VinOpera presents a vibrant musical program – from the exuberance of Offenbach’s overture to the famous Verdi brindisi – featuring moments of virtuosity, lyricism, passion, and refinement. Famous arias, fascinating duets, and orchestral interludes blend harmoniously in a performance that celebrates the timeless charm of opera in a festive, accessible, and emotionally rich atmosphere.

Four outstanding soloists, with brilliant careers in Romania and on international stages, will bring to life some of the most beloved pieces of the global operatic repertoire:

  • Mezzo-soprano Sorana Negrea, artist of the Romanian National Opera in Bucharest, will captivate the audience with the depth and sensuality of the aria “Mon cœur s’ouvre à ta voix” from Samson et Dalila by Saint-Saëns.

  • Baritone Alexandru Constantin, laureate of the “Hariclea Darclée” International Lied Competition, will bring verismo drama in “Nemico della patria” from Andrea Chénier by Umberto Giordano.

  • Soprano Georgiana Dumitru, awarded at the “George Enescu” Competition in Paris, will shine in the passionate and virtuosic aria “Sempre libera” from La Traviata by Verdi.

  • Tenor Bogdan Mihai, with a successful international career, will charm with the wit and grace of “Ecco ridente in cielo” from Il barbiere di Siviglia by Rossini.

The evening promises iconic moments, emotion, and a memorable sonic feast, under the artistic direction of Maestro Cristian Spătaru – conductor and composer, recipient of the “Best Romanian Conductor” title and author of over 100 classical works performed in prestigious venues in Vienna. He currently serves as Artistic Director of the “Maria Bieșu” National Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Joining Maestro Spătaru on stage will be 60 musicians from the Chișinău Municipal Orchestra Camerata, in an evening filled with graceful and lively duets as well as orchestral pieces by Eugen Doga, Offenbach, Delibes, and others – in a musical journey that traverses Viennese classicism, French romanticism, and Iberian flair.
